Women Play Banjo -- Each summer and fall, tens of thousands of musicians attend festivals in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, California and other states to play the original form of Appalachian music--"Old Time Music." Guitarists and bass players are in abundance, but the real stars are the fiddle and banjo players.
"Women Play Banjo" is a light-hearted fun, 5-minute introduction to this growing world-wide activity--women playing banjo. It is also the pilot for what will hopefully become a longer full-length documentary film about why women play banjo and who they are.
