Goofs

Factual errors: The movie opens with the caption "Antartica, Winter 1982". Due to the tilt of the Earth, the entire Antarctic continent is in total darkness during winter. There is only night during winter, and even in the surrounding regions the sun would barely be above the horizon, giving the impression of perpetual sunset. John Carpenter's film made the same mistake as well. This film likely did it for both artistic and continuity purposes. See more »
